Military Container Coating Booth: A Large Flat Box

Military Container Coating Booth

A container and a canopied generator share a property that makes them among the hardest things to coat: a large, flat, continuous surface with no curvature to hide anything.

A military container coating booth is designed around that property specifically, because any unevenness in flow across a panel that wide shows as a visible line in the final finish.

Size within the published range

Standard containers and canopied generator sets sit inside the delivered range in this family: length from 3000 to 24,000 mm, width to 20,000 mm, height to 6000 mm.

The main door on large builds reaches 14,200×5,000 mm under powered operation — an item settled early, because it constrains chamber position in the hall rather than size alone.

Flow is calculated on the volume

A rule that settles the confusion: air capacity follows the volume you need to keep clean, not the type of object inside it. The published range runs from 18,000 to 190,000 m³/h per supply or extraction set.

Because the surface is flat and continuous, evenness of flow across it matters more than its peak value. A high figure distributed unevenly gives a worse result than a lower figure distributed evenly.

Thermal mass and time to temperature

A container body is a large metal mass that absorbs heat slowly. Time to cure temperature is longer than for a light part of the same surface area, and that enters both the cycle time calculation and the heat output required.

Published heat output runs from 200,000 to 600,000 kcal/h, with the final figure set once volume and mass are both fixed.

Frequently asked questions

Does a standard container fit the published range?

Yes. The range extends to 24,000 mm long, 20,000 mm wide and 6000 mm high, which takes the common container and canopied generator sizes. Final size is built on your unit.

Why does a line appear on a flat surface?

Because uneven flow leaves areas drying at different rates. The remedy is in air distribution and extraction design rather than in raising the quantity, which is why extraction direction is set by the part.

Can two units be coated together?

Possible if internal length takes both with working space between them. Flow and heat output are then calculated on the larger volume, so cost does not simply halve.

What site requirements apply?

Ventilation and fire requirements for large chambers, disposal of paint and solvent waste under the applicable environmental rules, and SASO conformity for imported equipment.
