Portable Paint Booth: What Moves and What Stays on Site

Portable Paint Booth

A one-year field maintenance project, a workshop in a leased building, a facility splitting its work between two locations: in each case the question is not only chamber size but the chamber on the day it is taken apart and moved.

A portable paint booth is supplied and configured for that purpose per project. What decides whether it works is not what travels, since panels, fans and the heating unit travel; it is what does not travel and has to be prepared again at every site.

The chamber moves, the site does not

A dismantlable chamber is built from panels that come apart and ship, and the wall published for this family is 50 mm insulated panel. The published site requirements are a suitable concrete floor, an electrical supply matching the voltage, compressed-air runs, and duct runs for exhaust and the burner flue, and none of them travels to the next location. Every move is a new installation on a new site, not a restart of the same chamber.

Floor type decides portability before anything else

The family page states that cabins with a full steel-grid pit require an excavation or an entry ramp. An excavation is cast into the site floor and stays there, so a booth built on it is tied to that spot. A raised floor with an entry ramp needs no digging, which is why it is the choice for a chamber expected to move.

Extraction direction follows the same decision. Full downdraft needs somewhere for air to go beneath the part, while side arrangements do not. Anyone planning to move settles floor and extraction direction together before buying.

Exhaust route and stack are redone at each site

Stack height is subject to the requirements of the competent authority at each location, and the duct route between fan and outlet follows the shape and height of the new building. A stack that suited the first site may not suit the second, and that is found in the new site survey before shipping.

Frequently asked

How long does installation at a new site take?

Installation and commissioning time is confirmed after each site survey, because floor readiness, power and exhaust route differ from one site to the next. A move is not a fixed duration that repeats; it is a new installation on a new site.

Does booth performance change with each move?

Performance is measured at commissioning on each site rather than assumed to travel with the chamber, because joint sealing after reassembly and the new exhaust route both affect air balance. Balance is therefore reset and the pressure gauge reading recorded with new filters at every site.

Is a portable booth sized differently from a fixed one?

The sizing logic is the same: internal size is built on the largest part plus the technician’s working space around it, within the published range for custom ovens. What differs is that panel size and count are planned for transport from the start.

When is a fixed booth chosen instead?

When the activity stays on one site for years, or when the work calls for full downdraft over a pit. Portability is designed into the panels and joints, and it goes unused if the chamber never moves.
