Chamber Height RV Vehicles: What Sits Above the Roof

Chamber Height RV Vehicles

On recreational vehicles height stops being a secondary figure and becomes the first one. A truck is usually stopped by its length; an RV is often stopped by the ceiling before the length matters at all.

Chamber height rv vehicles is not derived from vehicle height alone. It is vehicle height plus clear height above the roof that allows spraying and ventilation to happen together.

Why vehicle height is not the answer

The gun works above the surface, not on it, and needs a constant angle and a constant standoff. A technician spraying the roof of a vehicle that nearly touches the ceiling loses both.

Beyond that, air travels top to bottom in ceiling-supply chambers. The space above the vehicle is not empty volume — it is part of the air path that carries overspray away from the coated surface.

What gets added to vehicle height
ItemWhat it addsWhy it is counted
Roof-mounted air conditioningThe true highest point of the vehicleOften absent from the manufacturer plate
Gun working spaceSpraying distance above the surfaceA constant angle gives an even finish
Ceiling air pathRenewal of the spray environmentOverspray returns to the surface if the path is tight

The delivered range

Internal height in this family runs from 2,650 to 6,000 mm. The lower end is the height of the INTECH automotive cabin at 6,900 × 4,000 × 2,650 mm; the upper end serves large structures.

Recreational vehicles and high-cab trucks sit between the two, and their figure is fixed from the overall vehicle height rather than from the middle of the range.

What height carries with it

  • Chamber volume — height multiplies the floor area, and air capacity is calculated on volume
  • Door height — a tall chamber is no use behind a door the vehicle will not pass
  • Bay height itself — the chamber needs services above it, and this is what stops many designs

Frequently asked questions

How much clearance do I leave above the roof?

It is set from your spraying method and the true highest point of the vehicle, and fixed in the site survey. There is no single figure that suits every vehicle, because the highest point differs from one to the next.

Does height raise running cost?

Indirectly, yes: it raises chamber volume, and air capacity and heat output are both calculated on volume. The published range reaches 190,000 m³/h and 600,000 kcal/h on large builds.

What if the bay ceiling is lower than required?

Position is studied before size. Sometimes moving the chamber to the taller part of the bay solves it completely and sometimes it cannot be solved — and either way the answer comes from the survey, not after manufacture.
